D*2

The student has a thorough and in depth understanding of the principles of pre-production. They can source and create a wide range of appropriate assets for use in the final product. They use of a wide range of advanced tools and techniques to create the final product, which is effective and therefore creates a complex product which is wholly appropriate for the client brief. They can produce a review of the finished product which demonstrates a thorough understanding of what worked and what did not, fully referencing back to the brief. This standard of work is present across all units.

D2

The student has a thorough and in-depth understanding of the principles of pre-production. They can source and create a wide range of appropriate assets for use in the final product. They use of a wide range of advanced tools and techniques to create the final product, which is effective and therefore creates a complex product which is wholly appropriate for the client brief. They can produce a review of the finished product which demonstrates a thorough understanding of what worked and what did not, fully referencing back to the brief.

M2

The student has a sound understanding of the principles of pre-production. They can source and create a range of assets for use in their final product. They prepare the assets for use in the product, most of which are technically appropriate and compatible. Their use of standard tools and techniques to create the final product is effective and therefore creates a result which shows detail, appropriate to most aspects of the client brief. They can produce a review of the finished product which demonstrates a reasonable understanding of what worked and what did not, mostly referencing back to the brief.

P2

The student has a basic understanding of the principles of pre-production. They produce an interpretation from the client brief which meets some of the client requirements, which has a limited identification of target audience requirements. They draw upon basic skills/knowledge/understanding from other units in the specification. They produce a work plan for the creation of the product, which has some capability in producing the intended final product. They source or create a limited range of assets for use in the final product. They produce a review of the finished product which demonstrates some understanding of what worked and what did not.

D1

The student has a comprehensive understanding of the principles of pre-production. They can source and create a wide range of assets for use in the final product. They use of a range of advanced tools and techniques to create the final product, which is effective and therefore creates a complex product which is appropriate for the client brief. They can produce a review of the finished product which demonstrates a thorough understanding of what worked and what did not, fully referencing back to the brief.

M1

The student has a sound understanding of the principles of pre-production. They can source and create a range of assets for use in their final product. They prepare the assets for use in the product, most of which are technically appropriate and compatible. P1

The student has a developing understanding of the principles of pre-production. They produce an interpretation from the client brief which meets some of the client requirements, which has some identification of target audience requirements. They draw upon some skills/knowledge/understanding from other units in the specification. They produce a work plan for the creation of the product, which has some capability in producing the intended final product. They source or create a limited range of assets for use in the final product. They produce a review of the finished product which demonstrates some understanding of what worked and what did not.

SSA

The student has been capable of some communication of the general knowledge and skills of pre-production, as well demonstrating some of the skills and knowledge required for other units.

SSB

The student has been capable of a very general communication of knowledge and skills of pre-production, as well as the skills and knowledge required for other units.

SSC

The student is working towards communication of general knowledge and skills of pre-production, as well as the skills and knowledge required for other units.
