Frequently Asked Questions

How long should Post & Prep take?

Most students should spend approximately 15–20 minutes per subject each week. Research suggests that students benefit most from regular, manageable amounts of independent study completed over time. Quality matters more than quantity.

What if my child gets stuck?

Students should re-read the Learning Box, look carefully at the examples and non-examples, use the Self-Quizzing Boxes, and ask their teacher for support during the next lesson. Post & Prep is designed to support learning, not to catch students out.

What if my child cannot remember the answer?

That's completely normal. If a student cannot remember something, they should revisit the Learning Box, check the answer, and try again. Every attempt to retrieve information helps strengthen memory.

Do students need to complete Post & Prep on their own?

Students should complete the work independently wherever possible. However, parents and carers can support by asking Self-Quizzing questions, listening to explanations, and encouraging regular completion.

Why does Post & Prep revisit old learning?

Research suggests that we naturally forget information over time. Revisiting older learning helps strengthen memory and make important knowledge easier to recall in the future.

Is Post & Prep revision?

Not exactly. Revision is often associated with preparing for a test. Post & Prep is about strengthening learning throughout the year by regularly revisiting previous knowledge and preparing for future learning.

Our Vision

At Uxbridge High School, we believe learning should not stop when a lesson ends. Post & Prep helps students revisit previous learning, strengthen current understanding, and prepare for future success. Through regular retrieval and preparation, students build stronger memories, deeper understanding, and greater confidence across every subject.
