Feedforward — What Happens in the Classroom?

Post & Prep does not end when students complete their homework. Every task is designed to feed directly into classroom learning through a process called Feedforward.

Step 1: Checking Understanding

At the start of the lesson, teachers review students' responses to the Post or Prep task, identifying common strengths and spotting misconceptions or gaps in understanding.

Step 2: Whole-Class Feedback

Teachers then review the task with the class, using visualisers, models, and classroom discussion to revisit key knowledge, skills, and concepts — with particular attention to areas of difficulty.

Step 3: Improving Responses

Students are given the opportunity to improve their work: correcting mistakes, adding missing information, strengthening explanations, and refining answers.

Step 4: Applying Learning Again

Once feedback has been provided, teachers often present students with a new example linked to the same knowledge or skill, giving another opportunity to apply learning in a different context.

Step 5: Checking Understanding Again

Students may then complete a similar task independently, often using mini whiteboards, discussion, or written responses, allowing teachers to quickly assess understanding.

The learning journey: Post & Prep → Teacher Review → Feedback → Improvement → New Example → Independent Application → Future Learning
