RSC Partnership Development Weekend

On Friday 6th February, the Drama department took two Shakespeare Ambassadors from Uxbridge High School to Stratford, to plan the coming years of the RSC Partnership.

The event involved workshops around the show ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ and also watching the production in the RSC Theatre.

The students got to work with the two lead actors from the production: Michelle Terry and Edward Bennett, acting with them and discussing their parts in the play. We had second row tickets and Edward spotted the girls in the crowd, directing his soliloquy at them and waving during the bows.

The girls were then taken on a tour of Stratford where they saw Shakespeare’s birth place and former home ‘New Place’.

Actors and RSC practitioners said how impressed they were with the girls contributions to the workshop and that they represented the school incredibly well.
