Middlesex Schools’ Cross Country Championships

A number of Uxbridge High students represented Hillingdon at the Middlesex Schools' Cross Country Championships at Harrow School on Thursday 26th January 2017. In freezing conditions, competitors raced against hundreds of the best runners from Middlesex in the U13, U15, U17 & U19 age groups, running distances from 2.1km for U13 girls, right through to 6.6km for U19 boys.

Representing Uxbridge in the U13 Boys race was Abdirahim Hamud (Y7), who led from start to finish and took victory. A fantastic result and Abdi will now go on to represent Middlesex at the English Schools' Championships!

In the U13 Girls, Millie Loran ran brilliantly to finish close to the top 20, in 23rd. Doing just as well was Bailey McGrath in the U15 Boys, finishing 22nd out of 70+ runners. In the U15 Girls, Caitlin Hubbard finished 51st out of 80 runners.

Well done to all of the UHS competitors and those from other schools around Hillingdon.
