Lancaster Building
Work on our new 3 storey £6m building was completed in June 2009 and the opening ceremony of the Lancaster Building was held on 8th July 2009.
The addition of the new building has contributed towards our
- best ever exam results
- record numbers in our Sixth Form
- continued membership of the Specialist Schools Most Improved Schools Club
The Lancaster building includes a Sixth Form Centre, Study Room, Activity Studio, Learning Zone, plus
- 16 innovative teaching spaces on the upper floors with state-of-the-art ICT and learning facilities
Features for this and future phases include:
- renewable energy
- a 6kw wind turbine
- photo voltaic panels
- green living walls to the east and west elevations
- secure cycle storage for over 100 bicycles
- community facilities
- a healthy living centre
- 4 court sports hall
For the past three years the school has been working with stakeholders, architects, educationalists, planners and the government to develop a strategic approach for Uxbridge High School to become a school for the 21st Century.
