Governing Body
Members of the governing body take a full and active role in the school. They work very closely with the Principal in a positive and highly effective partnership.
The Governing Body and its committees meet at least once a term.
In order to function effectively and efficiently a substantial part of its work is undertaken by five main committees.
These are:
- Admissions
- Attendance and Discipline
- Educational Standards
- Facilities
- Human Resources
The term of office for governors ranges from two to four years. The Governing Body is composed of twenty governors as listed below:
- 4 Community Governors
- 1 LA Governor
- 2 Partnership Governors
- 9 Parent Governors
- 4 Staff Governors (includes the Principal)
Being a governor means giving time, energy and commitment. The role of a school governor is a voluntary position that is much valued within the education system. It is a position of importance and trust.
Further general information on the role and work of School Governors is available by contacting Claire Faulkner, Clerk to the Governing Body (cfaulkner5@hillingdongrid.org).
