Drama
Drama is taught in form groups during Years 7 to 9. Each class is taught once a fortnight by a Drama specialist in a drama studio or on stage.
We run the Edexcel GCSE Drama syllabus which has proven to be very popular and successful with last year’s results being a record high of 80% A* – C. Uxbridge High has recently introduced OCR A Level Performance Studies, which consists of drama, dance and music, all taught by subject specialist teachers in our new state of the art facilities.
We run many extra curricular activities, which have included Brunel Drama Workshops (offered to Year 10 and Sixth Form), drama club performances in Uxbridge Pavillions Shopping Centre (with support from the Prudential 4 Youth and Crime concern), Glee Club, large scale school productions and Drama Club.
Students are taken to see a variety of productions, ranging from musical theatre, ballet to Shakespeare. Our recent trips included Legally Blonde, Chicago, Blood Brothers, Swan Lake and many more.
Recent productions include Bugsy Malone, Wizard of Oz and Little Shop of Horrors. This year’s production is Beauty and the Beast.
