Curriculum

All students have access to the whole curriculum and each subject is considered to be of equal importance. Full active participation is expected in every subject.

Every student is expected to give their undivided attention and maximum effort to every lesson they attend. They should listen attentively to all instructions, respond immediately to all requests and work to the best of their ability. Politeness and civility is expected at all times from everyone.

Students are taught in setted groups according to their abilities, with regular reviews taking place, in order to monitor progress and to identify appropriate student movement between sets.

The curriculum at Uxbridge High School follows statutory National Curriculum requirements and is enriched by a broad and balanced range of subjects. All students entering the school have equal access to all aspects of the curriculum. Those with special needs, either high or low ability, are mainly taught in mainstream classes with additional support being offered through differentiated material and classroom support.  Additional information relating to the curriculum can be found in our School Prospectus or alternatively can be obtained by contacting the school.
