Outstanding Post 16 Results
Students and staff are delighted that Post-16 results have broken the 700 point barrier at Uxbridge High School for the third year in succession. 100% of students have passed their A level examinations. 50% of passes were A* – C grades and 27% A* – B grades.
At an individual level, a number of students swept the board with top class results at A Level, these include:
Simeon Draganov – A* Chemistry, A* Mathematics, A physics & B Biology.
Kajanthini Kodeswaren – A* Mathematics A Biology A Physics, A Chemistry.
Suhuur Osman – A* Mathematics A* Biology, A Chemistry.
Jennifer Shallop – A* Mathematics A* Biology, A Chemistry.
In vocational studies students again achieved 100% pass rates. Of particular note was performance in BTEC Sports where 84% of students achieved distinction grades (D), with 33% gaining D*. In BTEC Travel and Tourism 50% of students achieved D*D*. Students in the popular Level 3 Diploma in Financial Studies achieved 100% pass rate. At an individual level, the following students did extremely well:
Mercy Samasuwo achieved D* D* (double starred distinction) in Business Studies.
Fadel Araj gained D*D* in his BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business.
Kiran Ali and Chandni Patel achieved D* D* in Travel and Tourism.
Top performing curriculum areas include Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and ICT, all with good levels of achievement at the highest grades including A*. A record number of students have achieved the Extended Project (a qualification highly sought after by universities) with 100% pass rate and 50% of grades at A* – B.
Nigel Clemens, Senior Vice Principal, said “Once again these results are just reward for the hard work of the students and the staff supporting them. We are extremely proud that from our inclusive Sixth Form the large majority of students will be moving on to university. All students have achieved a range of qualifications that will offer them the best possible chances of success in the future.”
