Adopt-A-Bot Competition

Students from Uxbridge High School adopted a Finch robot from Brunel University back in November 2014.  Seven students have regularly attended Coding Club after school to code and control the Finch.  The final of the competition was held at Brunel University on Tuesday 24th March 2015, where students from Uxbridge High competed against schools from all over London and one school from Romania.

Winning in two categories, Uxbridge High School were delighted.  Our students won the coding element of the competition, with judges commenting that the code was the “equivalent to a 2nd year university degree”.

Students this year had also diligently tracked their progress on a wiki page, regularly posting updates of their code, designs and diagrams – students also came first in this category.

The students all won Amazon vouchers along with a Brunel goodie bag and bonus Vivo points from Uxbridge High School.

Mr Churchill quoted:  “I am once again so proud of the students and their enthusiasm. They have worked brilliantly as a team and presented their ideas and demonstrated their code with such confidence. Well done boys!”.
