Governing Body
The governing body take a full and active role in the school. They work very closely with the Head Teacher in a positive and highly effective partnership.
The Governing Body and its' committees meet at least once a term. In order to function effectively and efficiently a substantial part of its work is undertaken by seven main committees. These are:
- Admissions/Attendance/Discipline
- Education
- Finance
- Personnel
- Premises
- Social Cohesion
- Visits
The term of office for governors of all categories is four years. The Governing Body is composed of twenty governors as listed below:
- 4 Community Governors
- 2 LA Governors
- 2 Partnership Governors
- 8 Parent Governors
- 4 Staff Governors (includes the Head)
Being a governor means giving time, energy and commitment. The role of a school governor is a voluntary position that is much valued within the education system. It is a position of importance and trust.
